Great Places to Have a Couple’s Night in San Diego

San Diego is a vibrant destination with endless possibilities for couples to enjoy. If you’re vacationing in our beautiful city and staying at one of our welcoming San Diego hotels, you’ll find so many options that it would be impossible to list them all here. Instead, we’ve listed the best of the best options below for your convenience.

Altitude Sky Bar

The Altitude Sky Bar is a 22-story-high rooftop club overlooking the Gaslamp District, Coronado Park, and the San Diego skyline. With the bar’s 360-degree view, you’ll also be able to see Coronado Island, the Coronado Bridge, Point Loma, and a beautiful sunset as long as it’s a clear day, which is usually the case in San Diego. There’s no cover to get in at Altitude Sky Bar. Once you’re at the bar, you can enjoy the fire pit, bottle service, draft beers, a selection of wines and cocktails, and comfortable seating. You can also dance. If it’s cold in the evening, there will be heaters to warm you up.

Prohibition Lounge

Prohibition Lounge is in the Gaslamp District and is modeled like a speakeasy. This is an ideal option if you’re seeking a combination of relaxation and uniqueness. There’s plenty of seating available, the bartenders are friendly and efficient, and the food is excellent. As far as drinks go, they’re best known for their Passion Rum and Strawberry Mojito.

False Idol

False Idol is a hidden tiki bar with a tropical atmosphere. You can only get into False Idol with a reservation, and it only seats up to 24 people. The drinks here are strong, and the bartenders are known for being cool, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Trailer Park After Dark

This is another hidden gem. You can dance here, and there will be a DJ, but it’s more of a relaxed atmosphere, with freshly cooked food, cheap drinks, and unique décor—which includes plastic-covered furniture, wheelbarrow seating, pull-behind trailers, leg lamps, ’80s aerobic videos, and more. When you’re here, also make sure to check out the china cabinet and medicine cabinet for some fun surprises. An added bonus is the excellent bartenders.

The Shout! House

The Shout! House is a dueling piano bar with classic rock singalongs. You can put in a request, and they’ll sing it for you. The performers here are very likely to blow away any performers you’ve seen at a dueling piano bar in the past, and they’re willing to take on anything from Beethoven to Kanye West. Many people who have been here have referred to it as the best experience they’ve had in San Diego. The Shout! House has a $12 cover, but it’s well worth the investment. An added note is that you must put down a $5 deposit to reserve a spot for the night.
